Bo-yi Wu (b. 1998)
Bo-yi is a multidisciplinary artist based between London and Taipei. His practice investigates the tensions between nature, technology, and systems of human control. Working primarily with invasive plant species—particularly Japanese Knotweed—Wu employs traditional papermaking techniques to transform these materials into both substance and metaphor. Through this process, he examines how plants are reclassified, governed, and narrated across cultural, legal, and ecological frameworks. Merging disappearing craft with contemporary art, his work offers renewed perspectives on environmental politics and cultural heritage.
